The Ultimate Guide to Mount Gambier Coffee Shops that Match Your Personality

It’s no secret that coffee culture is huge in Australia, and the Limestone Coast is no exception. While we have absolutely no data to prove it, it seems to us that this town supports the most coffee shops per capita of any town in the world. (Again, this claim is completely unverified.)

As a visitor, you can’t possibly have enough time to try them all during your stay, so we’ve done the hard work for you and categorised our favourites based on which personalities or types of people we think they suit.

For the introverts: SOMA

  • Many MG cafes can be crawling with people at all hours. But Soma is on the chiller side, with great brews that satisfy your caffeine fix, and a location that’s convenient but also easy to find a park on the street nearby. There isn’t much room inside so the true introverts can grab their cuppa and go.

For the parents: Brew

  • Mum Chelsea owns this comfy cafe that helpfully features a kids playpen tucked in the back that’s perfect for toddlers. As a bonus, you can grab a healthy salad or treat from Macro Maestra in addition to a flawless and fast coffee from one of Brew’s friendly staff.

For the music lovers: Presto

  • In the heart of Commercial Street (MG’s main thoroughfare) you’ll find Presto. In addition to a full food and drinks menu, you’ll also find one of the most fabulous playlists to ever accompany your flat white. You’ll want to stay, sip and treat your ears and your taste buds.

For the multitaskers: the new Xpresso

  • Situated next to a Star Discount Chemist and Coles, the newly-opened Xpresso location is a multitasker’s dream. Stop in to pick up your coffee before checking the week’s chemist and grocery runs off your to-do list. (Bonus: If you’re out and about and need to wee, there’s a brand new public toilet just around the corner, too!)

For the famished: Nalou Kitchen

  • Not just a coffee shop, Nalou can also be counted upon for a reliable and well-sized feed. Hit it up when you’re feeling hungry — we can recommend the Eggs Benny.

For the sociable extroverts: Limestone Coast Pantry

  • With heaps of cosy seating (a mix of vintage chairs and sofas), your big group of fellow diners and coffee enthusiasts will love LCP. It’s not the first time we’ve recommended it … in addition to their great coffee and menu, we also love them for their eco-friendly mindset and excellent service!
